Inferentia is an independent research initiative on reliable measurement in commerce. I study when evidence is strong enough to support a decision, beginning with the reliability of AI shopping recommendations. Projects show what has been collected, what has been checked, what remains uncertain and which materials are publicly available.

The researcher

I’m Piyush Ranjan, based in Bengaluru. My experience includes work across Flipkart, Paytm, PharmEasy and a D2C brand. Inferentia is my personal research initiative. Collaborators and reviewers are credited for their specific contributions.

What you will find here

The Project page documents the current AI commerce reliability pilot, starting with backpacks sold online in India. Research Standards explains how work is labelled, reviewed, amended and corrected. Research Notes will appear when there is a substantive update to publish; there is no fixed publication schedule.

Measurement Guides contains earlier practitioner writing on tracking, metrics, experiments and diagnosis. CRO Lab retains earlier writing on conversion optimisation, UX and AI for CRO. These older articles predate the research standards and are kept as reference material.
